Musk, the 45-year-old Tesla founder, has been spotted with Heard following her split from Depp.

They met on the set of Robert Rodriguez's 2013 film Machete Kills and reportedly he was smitten. According to the Hollywood Reporter he began sending emails to Rodriguez and others begging for them to set up a date. "If there is a party or event with Amber, I'd be interested in meeting her just out of curiosity," Musk wrote in the emails, which the magazine claims to have viewed. "Allegedly, she is a fan of George Orwell and Ayn Rand … most unusual."

Even though Heard was dating Depp at the time, Rodriguez did set up a dinner for the pretty blonde and Musk. However, THR claims she flaked on the meeting!

The Tesla founder wouldn't take no for an answer, though. "Can you send her a note saying I would like to get together for lunch in LA?" he wrote to Rodriguez and the others that set up the meeting.

Musk tried to mask his intentions in the email, insisting, "Am not angling for a date. I know she's in a long-term relationship, but … Amber just seems like an interesting person to meet."

Heard stayed with Depp and tied the knot with him in early 2015, only to end their marriage in August 2016, after accusing him of domestic violence, which he denies. In July, Heard was seen with Musk in Miami and they were reportedly getting close. A source close to Musk told THR, "As for now, they are just friends."
