Chaz Bono's massive weight swings have family, friends and medical experts convinced he is on a path of self-destruction that could ultimately lead to his own death!

"He's courting his own self-destruction," according to weight-loss expert Dr. Stuart Fischer, author of The Park Avenue Diet. Dr. Fischer has not treated Bono.

As RadarOnline.com reported in 2014, the five-foot-five-inch, 47-year-old transgender reality show star dropped an incredible 165 pounds after crushing the scales at a whopping 345 pounds.

"Yo-yo dieting is among the worst therapies imaginable! He's at risk for heart attack, and stroke and at least 60 other illnesses!" Fischer said.

Chaz, who grew up as Sonny and Cher's adorable daughter Chastity, has struggled with gender-identity issues, ultimately transitioning into a man. But his ongoing battle with the bulge has become a ticking time bomb waiting to explode, pals told Radar.

"Chaz was gulping down huge amounts of food like it was his last meal — but he took breaks from stuffing his face to slobber all over a pretty Asian girlfriend," said a source.

Now his famous mom — who is struggling with her own health issues — is fearing for Chaz's health.

Still, she's not being overly sympathetic to her son's struggles. "Cher never understood why her child engages in such self-destructive behavior. She's always been critical of Chaz and has no intention of stopping now."
