19 Kids And Counting fans are in a fit about the Duggar family after one of the young kids was photographed with a gun!

The Duggars are going to have criticism shot their way with this one. The family, who were on vacation in Texas, posted a photo to their Facebook page showing Josie standing right in front of a gun – with no supervision! Commenters have said the gun appears to be a .22 shotgun and are lambasting the family for being careless with the youngster while her older siblings are busy fishing.

But this isn’t the first time a Duggar child has been spotted with a firearm in their hand. And even here, father Jim Bob assists his kids in using guns recreationally.

In an interview with RadarOnline, Jim Bob defended the family’s right to the Second Amendment saying: “Bearing arms is one of our constitutional rights. We believe it is important for children to learn safety about guns and knives to learn how to use them properly.”

But could they be taking the right too far? In 2011, John David Duggar, then 20, was photographed holding three guns with a foreign exchange student.

Even sister Jessa Duggar was photographed last year holding an automatic rifle and captioned the picture with hash tag “#DontmesswithJessa.”

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar also posted this photo of Jedidiah, who recently turned 16, holding a 12 gauge shotgun on Christmas on their Facebook.

The couple outraged many fans with the photo. "Don't understand why a Christian family who values life would want to own devices that were specifically designed to destroy it," one commenter wrote.

According to the state of Arkansas, however, children under 18 are allowed to use a gun as long as they have their parents' permission.
