On September 3, Fox announced it had parted ways with its longtime anchor, saying Bartiromo's departure was effective immediately.

Steinberg was born into a distinguished and influential family. He is the son of the late billionaire financier Saul Steinberg and his high school sweetheart, Barbara Herzog.
According to a 1969 profile, Saul founded Leasco, a computer-leasing company, two years after graduating from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce in 1959. He was a millionaire by 30 and a billionaire by 40.
