Sharon Stone's Mom Suffers Second Stroke, Months After Actress' 11-Month-Old Godson Dies From 'Total Organ Failure'
Sharon Stone is asking for prayers after her 88-year-old mother suffered a stroke in what has already been a grueling year for the actress.
The Basic Instinct star revealed the news in an emotional Instagram post. Sharing a photo of her smiling mom, Dorothy, Sharon wrote, “Say a prayer for Dorothy Marie Stone, my mom, who has suffered another acute stroke tonight. Thx." She signed the note with a prayer hand emoji.
Strokes run in Stone's family. Not only is this her mom's second one, but the actress and her grandma have also suffered strokes.
Sharon has been open about her family's health issues. In 2019, she told Variety, "My mother had a stroke. My grandmother had a stroke. I had a massive stroke — and a nine-day brain bleed."
The 63-year-old suffered a stroke in 2001 and nearly lost everything she worked so hard for.
"I had to remortgage my house. I lost everything I had,” she told Variety. “I lost my place in the business. I was like the hottest movie star, you know? It was like Miss Princess Diana and I were so famous — and she died and I had a stroke. And we were forgotten.”

2021 has been a rough year for Sharon. Besides her mom's recent health issue, the actress' godson unexpectedly passed in September.
Just two months she said goodbye to her godson, who was just 11-months-old. As RadarOnline.com reported, River died of "total organ failure." He was Sharon's younger brother's child.
Following River's tragic passing, the Oscar nominee posted a touching tribute in his memory. Sharing a video collage of her godson smiling and laughing in the first year of his life, Sharon paired the clip with Eric Clapton's tear-jerking classic Tears In Heaven.
"River William Stone. Sept. 8, 2020 - Aug. 30, 2021," she captioned the video.
