Real Housewives of New York star Ramona Singer is accused of making racist comments during production about black people.
Production sources revealed to Page Six the reason behind the network’s investigation into racism on set.
Eboni Williams claims the OG RHONY star said, “This is why we shouldn’t have black people on the show.”
The remark was made after a fight where Luann de Lesseps kicked Eboni out of her home.
Last week, an insider revealed the season 13 reunion had been canceled due to the investigation. Eboni reportedly filed a formal complaint with the network after multiple incidents with Ramona.
The complaint was filed weeks before the reunion and led to the producers postponing it several times before canceling it altogether. "It was already a low-rated season so there were concerns about who would tune in 3 months later," one source dished.
Ramona denied ever making the statement. “I never said that. It’s a terrible lie. It’s very disappointing that even after my name was cleared that people still want to slander me.”
The star also revealed she signed an NDA which prohibited her from speaking about the matter.
The investigators spoke to the cast and crew about the allegations. However, the officials were unable to find any evidence backing up Eboni’s claims. Sources do note that Eboni was not the only person to complain about Ramona. Another crew member had previously filed a complaint over statements made by the star.
All the drama comes after RadarOnline.com first reported the producers aren't bringing back Ramona as a full-time cast member next season. Our sources tell us the show will be cleaning house and has offered Ramona, Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps "friend" roles. We're told the show has become quite expensive with the three being paid very well.
Eboni has yet to comment on the Page Six report.
