"Duchess Difficult" Meghan Markle allegedly lived up to her nickname during meetings with Netflix executives regarding her projects with the streamer, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

The ex-royal didn't just dip out of Zoom meetings as previously reported; she would also allegedly turn off her camera "to express her displeasure" whenever she faced unwanted feedback.

Variety's Matt Donnelly said multiple sources told him about Meghan Markle's unprofessional behavior.

Variety's Chief Correspondent, Matt Donnelly, made the revelation during an appearance on Tom Sykes' The Royalist podcast on March 31.

He previously dished in the Hollywood Bible's scathing exposé of Prince Harry and Markle's downfall with the platform that the former actress was known to "disappear" for long periods during calls if she was offended, but Donnelly went even further into what insiders described.

"Multiple sources told me that, when Meghan would sit, especially in meetings regarding her brand As Ever, her lifestyle and homewares range, when she heard feedback she didn't like, or heard ideas that she didn't think were appropriate, she would turn her camera off to express her displeasure," the journalist revealed.

Markle worked with Netflix on various projects, including her now-canceled lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, and her flailing As Ever brand. The streamer just cut all ties with the business after providing financial support for its April 2025 launch.

Meghan Markle's Lawyer Blamed Her Behavior on Being a Mom

Meghan Markle's lawyer claimed she dipped out of Netflix meetings because of her kids.

Donnelly noted, "It's certainly an interesting way to provide feedback in Hollywood," about Markle allegedly shutting down Netflix personnel who had things to say she didn't want to hear.

He called the original piece of reporting in his March 17 article, "one of the stickiest parts of the story," as three insiders said that Netflix's marketing department "would be informed that her absence was due to her being offended by something that was said, when she simply vanished from Zoom calls."

The couple's attorney, Michael Kump, told Variety that Markle's absences were due to the pressures of being a stay-at-home mom, despite reports that she employs multiple nannies.

He claimed the former actress "works from home, is the mother of young children aged 4 and 6, and often encounters (as many parents who work from home do) children who enter the space unexpectedly during a meeting."

Kump continued, "Independent of being a parent who works from home, Meghan is also conscious of shielding her team from the distraction of children. Nearly all professionals can attest to needing to turn off the audio or camera during a virtual meeting at some point during many hours of virtual business calls."

The Sussexes Were Used to Being in a Royal Bubble

Meghan Markle was accused of bullying her staff during her brief stint as a senior working royal.

Sykes also pointed out that the duo "didn't have the reputation of being the easiest" employers to work for, seemingly referring to the Buckingham Palace internal investigation into allegations that Markle bullied members of her royal staff.

Donnelly said the couple might have taken the same approach, coming from such a position of power when they entered Hollywood and attempted to fit into the industry's ecosystem.

"I think, for you know, just for how they live, the protocols by which they live. I think they have a very similar system to what a senior royal might," he explained.

Matt Donnelly suggested that the Sussexes had a hard time fitting in to the business of Hollywood.

Donnelly noted, "Hollywood is a working culture. It's a business like any other," without the airs and graces afforded to royalty.

"There's not so much decorum. I think it's maybe what the Sussexes are used to. And I think that one of the most interesting and really, rewarding parts of reporting the story I did, which ran last week, was seeing how those two worlds collide, or more appropriately, do not," he added about why the duo ultimately failed in their former $60 million exclusive deal with Netflix.
