Meghan Markle's Controversial First Book Fails To Make Best Seller's List As Kate Middleton's Sales Continue To Sky-Rocket
Meghan Markle's first book is failing miserably after its release.
Despite making headlines weeks before it was available for purchase, the 39-year-old Duke of Sussex's children's book -- The Bench -- is not on the best seller's list.
The book is special to the former Suits actress as it was her present to Prince Harry to honor his first Father's Day. She wrote The Bench when Archie was just one month old.
To add even more salt in the wound, why her book sales are coming in way under expectations, her sister-in-law Kate Middleton's photography book has reached #2 just weeks after being released.
While Middleton is being praised for her artistic eye, Markle's book didn't come without controversy.
She was accused of plagiarism after book fans noticed some hair raising similarities to The Boy on the Bench, written by Corrinne Averiss and Gabriel Alborozo.
Some even went as far as to call for a boycott, citing similarities between the themes, the book titles, and the illustrations.

"Is this a coicidence or plagiarism Corinne Averiss wrote a book ‘The Boy on the Bench’ about the love between a father and son," questioned one person.
"One will be highly amused when #MeghanMarkle has to hand over all the money she's made off it to the author of the original book, 'The boy on the bench,'" posted another.
After Twitter blew up, slamming Markle over her book, The Boy On The Bench's actor Corinne Averiss spoke up in the Duchess' defense.
"Reading the description and published excerpt of the Duchess’s new book, this is not the same story or the same theme as ‘The Boy on the Bench.’ I don’t see any similarities,” Corinne tweeted at fans.
While her book isn't doing well, her personal life is thriving.
Meghan and Prince Harry just welcomed their second child -- a girl -- on Friday.
After revealing her name is Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor -- in honor of Queen Elizabeth, whose nickname is Lilibet, and Harry's mom Princess Diana -- the Duke and Duchess faced backlash.
They are still in the middle of the royal family feud, which Middleton is said to be "trying to mediate" a reconciliation between Harry and his brother, William.
