Katie Holmes made the unusual move to congratulate her ex-boyfriend on his latest acting venture, just one month after questioning his motives and dumping him.
The 42-year-old Dawson's Creek star ended her relationship with 33-year-old Emilio Vitolo Jr. last month after first being linked in September 2020.
According to OK!, Holmes began to feel like "something didn't seem right," which caused her to pull away from Vitolo.
But she didn't dump him in person.
An insider told the outlet, Holmes ended their 8-month relationship over the phone instead of in person.
"She dumped him," they said before dropping the bombshell that Holmes reportedly began to question his motives for dating her.
Vitolo's family is well-known in the restaurant industry but he has dreams of being a big-time actor.
“Katie started to wonder if Emilio had ulterior motives for dating her," the source continued, adding that she has a long list of celebrity friends and connections in Tinsel Town.
Fast-forward to Tuesday night when Holmes congratulated Vitolo on the debut of his short film, Almost a Year, at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Showing her support for her ex, the actress shared several clips from his short film on her Instagram.
"ALMOST A YEAR @tribecafilmfestival 💕🙏💕. I am so excited for the start of the @tribecafilmfestival today!!!!! I am so honored to have been a part of the making of ALMOST A YEAR which is premiering at #Tribeca2021 as part of #TribecaAtHome tickets and more details on the @Tribeca [website.]," she captioned the video.

She wasn't the only one who showed love because her ex creeped up in the comments.

Just weeks ago, he sparked dating rumors with Zoë Kravitz.
The duo couldn't hide their chemistry when they were caught heavily flirting outside his family's NYC restaurant.
