Kanye West Demands Joint Custody Of Kids In $2.1 Billion Divorce Battle With Kim Kardashian

It's been almost two months since Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West, and now, her husband of almost seven years is finally speaking up.
The 43-year-old rapper just submitted his response to his 40-year-old estranged wife's divorce petition – in which the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star-turned-beauty mogul asked for joint custody of their four children – and it's basically a carbon copy.
Kanye reportedly also wants joint legal and physical custody of their daughter North, 7, son Saint, 5, daughter Chicago, 3, and son Psalm, 1. However, it's important to note "joint" doesn’t necessarily mean 50/50 and that Kim is expected to end up having the kids the majority of the time.
And since West and Kardashian have already committed to co-parenting, they're reportedly expected to work out a custody arrangement civilly and on their own before presenting it to the court for approval.
But it's not just custody of the kids that Kimye can surprisingly agree upon. Kanye, like Kim, is advocating for no spousal support and for each party to pay for their own legal fees, which is interesting considering Kim was declared a billionaire by Forbes just last week. Then again, Kanye is reportedly worth $1.8 billion all on his own.
Though an estimated $2.1 billion divorce would be catastrophic and life-changing for most, the reality star and her soon-to-be ex-husband signed a prenup, so asset dividing is expected to go relatively smoothly.

Another similarity between the filings is that neither West nor Kardashian listed a date of separation, though the famous couple has reportedly been living separately for months.
Kim filed for divorce on Feb. 19, following six years of marriage.
Prior to acquiring fame, Kardashian was married to music producer Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004. Then in 2011, she married NBA star Kris Humphries in a televised, over-the-top ceremony. She famously filed for divorce from Humphries 72 days later, but the divorce was not finalized until 2013. By that time, Kim had already fallen for her longtime friend, Kanye West, who claimed to have loved Kim for a long time.
West famously rented out AT&T Park in San Francisco, California, to pop the question in October of that same year, presenting Kardashian with a 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring. North was 4 months old.
The duo married the following May in a private ceremony in Florence, Italy, surrounded by family and friends.
