The 33-year-old Canadian rapper has finally dropped his highly-anticipated Certified Lover Boy album release date and did it in the most clever way possible.
Hours after Kanye's elaborate third listening party for his album, which included his ex Kim Kardashian channeling their 2014 wedding, Drake grabbed headlines by hijacking ESPN's SportsCenter broadcast.
Athletic fans were shocked when their regularly scheduled program was mobbed with a special interruption from Champagne Papi.
Sharing a glitchy announcement that gave off creepy ransom vibes, a shadowy figure wearing a hooded sweatshirt appeared on the television screen.
Holding up a piece of cardboard paper with the handwritten words “CLB September 3" on it, Drake's unexpected announcement quickly made the rounds on Twitter — essentially kicking Kanye's over-the-top listening party to the curb.
Fans quickly took note, with many saying Drake oned-up his rap nemesis.
"Drake said Kanye ain't the only Joker," one person tweeted. "Drake really dropping CLB before Kanye drops Donda," shared another. "Damn Drake coming in hot after Kanye," posted a third.
Kanye's album release date has been moved around a bunch, and at one time, he was set to drop it on the same day as Drake.
Ye may have already dug himself in a hole he can't come out of. The Jesus Is King rapper is catching heat over his Chicago listening party on Thursday after he brought out gay bashing rapper DaBaby and alleged sexual assaulter Marilyn Manson as his guests.
The duo has been at each other's throats for years after it was rumored Champagne Papi had hooked up with Kim.
Their beef was recently cooked back up when Drake dropped a verse diss on Trippie Redd's song, Betrayal, aimed at Kanye and Pusha T.
Kanye retaliated in the most Kanye way — by posting Drake's home address online for all to see.
Meanwhile, Kanye isn't just desperately grasping for attention by lighting himself on fire and sticking Kim in a wedding dress amid their divorce. He also filed court documents beginning for a judge to legally change his name to Ye.
Not only does he want to lose his first name, but Kanye is also asking to drop his famous surname that he shares with his four children.
