A family claimed Dr. Phil pressured them to send their troubled daughter to a treatment facility where she was sexually abused.
The claims were detailed in a lawsuit filed against Dr. Phil and various production companies. The family said their 17-year-old daughter was sexually abused at the facility and punished when she reported it. The retaliation included making her sleep on a wooden plank and picking up horse manure.
