DaBaby Accused Of Faking Robbery By Family Of Man Killed In 2018 Walmart Shooting Amid Backlash Against Rapper Over Homophobic Rant
DaBaby is being accused of lying about his role in the fatal shooting that took place years ago.
Back in 2018, DaBaby was involved in an altercation outside a North Carolina Walmart which ended with a 19-year-old named Jaylin Craig being fatally shot.
The parents of Craig claim DaBaby was the one who shot and killed him. The rapper hasn’t denied shooting but claims it was done in self-defense.
Craig’s family scoffed at this suggestion and claim DaBaby was the aggressor who started the fight. Criminal charges were originally brought against DaBaby for carrying a concealed gun but later dropped. The family claims a key witness for the prosecution never showed up and the security footage wasn't shown in court.
DaBaby has denied being the one who pulled the trigger. Nobody was ever charged for the murder.
After the charges were dropped, the victim’s father said, “The rapper instigated it and started it and attacking my son’s friend– the first punch,” his father said.
“But everyone ran with it because the rapper said it was a robbery. There was never a robbery. Ever,” he added.
Flash forward to this week, as DaBaby is getting trashed for going on a homophobic rant, an alleged family member of Craig’s took to Twitter to speak her mind saying he has a track record of being a horrible person.
The woman said “now that so many people” want to “cancel him” … “are we ready to talk about the murder he committed in November 2018.”
She said, “My cousin, Jaylin Craig, was shot and killed by D*B*by on 11/5/2018. He lied and said that Jaylin was trying to rob hin and that he shot in self-defense.

Shortly after he blew up on the scene and had the nerve to brag about it in his songs.”
The relative claims Craig got excited to see DaBaby at Walmart and that is why he approached him. However, she says DaBaby became “agitated” and “after spewing a few words he assaulted” Craig’s friend in the face.
She says “a scuffle ensued. Jaylin attempted to diffuse the situation and break up the fight” but DaBaby’s girlfriend punched Jaylin in the face. She says as DaBaby was fighting Craig’s friend he turn and shot Craig as he tried to run away.
She wrote, “ballistics and physical evidence show that Jaylin was shot in the back/side of his torso while he was trying to flee. One of the detective who worked the case told the family that this incident was NEVER being investigated as a robbery-gone-bad.”
She ended, “Not only did DaBaby kill Jaylin, he’s perpetuated a lie that continues to assassinate Jaylin’s character and tarnish his good name. Well, my family and I have had enough.”
DaBaby has yet to respond to the claims by Craig’s family. He might be a little busy still dealing with the backlash from his Rolling Loud set over the weekend.
He spoke negatively about those living with HIV and the LGBTQ+ community. He was quickly shunned by other artists and brands have begun to terminate their deals with the rapper.
