Celebrity chef Cat Cora is facing serious financial issues and she is placing the blame on her ex-wife Jennifer.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the accounting firm Gursey Schneider is suing Cat for breach of contract. The firm says they performed work for Cat for a period of several years.
As of September 18, 2018, the chef owed them a total of $169,171.15, which she disputed. The parties reached a settlement agreement where Cat allegedly agreed to pay $144,167.38. A payment plan was put in place that said if she defaulted the full $169k would be owed immediately. Gursey Schneider says Cat did just that on June 17, 2021.
They accuse her of not making the required payments and are now demanding she be ordered to pay the full $169k plus interest.
Cat spoke to RadarOnline.com about the lawsuit and blamed her financial issues on her never-ending divorce from her ex-wife Jennifer. Back in 2015, Cat and Jennifer filed dueling divorce petitions after being married for 3 years.
The two share four sons together, 3 of whom were birthed by Jennifer and 1 which Cat carried. The court battle has been raging on for years and Cat claims it has cost her a ton of money.
Cat tells us, “The genesis of this action is my long-standing and contentious divorce with Jennifer Cora. As a result of an antiquated system, with unprotective judges, and greedy ex-spouses, Jennifer was rewarded for taking me to court 16 times over the last five years. This injustice is compounded by a court system that imposed a receiver to take 100% of all income owing to me and my businesses in order to pay Jennifer, her lawyers, and the receiver."
"None of the proceeds that have been paid to the receiver have been released to me and as a result of the court’s actions, I have been left with no money to pay taxes, bills, or even to live," she explained.
Earlier this year, Cat’s new wife Nicole Ehrlich filed for divorce after 3 years of marriage. In the divorce docs, the chef revealed she owed her ex-wife Jennifer $100,000 in back support.
Cat says, “As a result of Jennifer’s actions, there was no money to pay the expenses of my businesses – which were integral to our receiving income. I was forced to lay off all our employees, cancel our insurance policies, stop all marketing efforts, and sell what was left of my business. I will now take a salary from a third party in order to make ends meet."

In regard to the lawsuit, Cat says the firm was a party to her divorce and spent hundreds of thousands “performing an accounting that was neither necessary or proper.” Cat says she tried to settle the issue with the firm but was “not even given the courtesy of a meaningful response.”

She ended, “This is another example of a predator using a misogynistic system to leverage 15 minutes of fame on the back of my children, my family and myself. This is what our justice system has come to: a place to exploit the already struggling and most vulnerable. I will take all necessary steps to protect myself and my family from this unnecessary and improper action.”
