John Stamos 'Clashed' With 'Disruptive' Bob Saget On 'Full House' Set, Late Actor 'Hated' Co-Star
In the wake of Bob Saget’s untimely and heartbreaking passing at the age of 65, his former co-star and close friend John Stamos has spoken out about their time working together on the set of Full House, revealing the happy-go-lucky pair actually “clashed” in the early days of filming.
Stamos gave to the New York Times on Tuesday where he spoke at length about Saget, sharing how they went from butting heads to becoming best friends and were there for each other through thick and thin.
“He was a comic. If there was even one person on the set, he had to make them laugh,” Stamos shared to the outlet, after claiming that his and Saget’s “styles completely clashed.”
“[Saget] could be painfully distracting — disruptive — because you’re here, let’s get this scene, let’s find out what works, what doesn’t.”
Saget, who was a comedian first and an actor second, was allegedly constantly cranking out jokes on the set of Full House – something that Stamos was not used to because he was not a comic.
“Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,” Stamos reportedly told the outlet while punching the air to show how Saget would just keep shooting out jokes like a machine gun. “He couldn’t stop it. I think, if I may say, that it could have been a detriment sometimes to him.”
But even though the two actors may have clashed early on, Stamos revealed that they eventually “met in the middle” and started to “respect each other professionally and creatively as the years went by.”

In fact, while attending Saget’s funeral on Friday, January 14, the late comic’s ex-wife Sherri Kramer told Stamos that her former husband “hated” the Uncle Jesse actor before learning to love him.
“He loved you so much. He loved you so much. But in the beginning, he hated you,” Stamos recalled Kramer telling him at the funeral. “He would come home and he was so jealous of you. He would just complain about you so much.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Saget was found dead in his Orlando hotel room earlier this month after suffering what is thought to be either a heart attack or stroke in his sleep.
“Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family,” Stamos wrote on his Instagram following the confirmation of Saget’s death at 65-years-old. “And now we grieve as a family. Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories of our sweet, kind, hilarious, cherished Bob.
“He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly. We ask in Bob’s honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob.”
