Megyn Kelly Demands NBC Release Matt Lauer Accusers From Their NDAs

Megyn Kelly is not holding back when speaking her thoughts about NBC News, Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer’s ongoing sexual assault scandal.
The anchor — who was let go by the network last year after making a controversial comment about blackface — commented on Ronan Farrow’s explosive book, Catch and Kill, during an interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight.
“What did they know, and when did they know it?” Kelly asked, speaking of NBC News and their previous knowledge of the sexual misconduct allegations against Lauer, 61.
“Show us the money,” she continued. “The number one thing that needs to happen now is they need to release any and all Matt Lauer accusers from their confidentiality agreements. NBC says it has nothing to hide. Great. Let’s not hide anything.”
RadarOnline.com readers know that after former NBC assistant Brooke Nevils claimed she was raped by Lauer during the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Lauer shared a denial, painting her as a scorned ex-lover. NBC also shared a statement. In it, they voiced their sadness over Nevils’s claims, but assured they knew absolutely nothing about the alleged sexual assault — despite her allegations that they did.
Farrow’s book exposed another Lauer accuser, Today Show producer Melissa Lonner. Though she refused to comment on the book, she allegedly told many coworkers about an incident in which Lauer reportedly exposed himself to her following an office party. Ann Curry then said she told network executives about the misconduct, but nothing was done to Lauer. NBC News president Noah Oppenheim denied that the network knew anything about Curry’s complaints or Lonner’s claims.
Kelly’s remarks in her recent interview didn’t stop there. The TV star said that the fact that NBC chose to conduct an internal investigation — rather than hire a third party to conduct it — following Lauer’s sex scandal, only shows that they are hiding something.
“The question is open as to whether NBC put dollars ahead of decency, about whether they were more interested in protecting their star anchor than they were in protecting the women of the company,” Kelly told Carlson. “There needs to be an outside investigation into this company. They investigated themselves. That doesn’t work.”
She pointed out that NPR, Fox News, CBS News, and the NFL all hired third-party investigators when they were under fire, but NBC refused to do the same.
“If these are the people overseeing the investigation into NBC — they had Kim Harris, the general counsel, do the investigation — then how are people supposed to trust it? That’s why you’ve got to get somebody on the outside,” Kelly said.
Kelly then spoke about Farrow’s report that Weinstein knew about Lauer’s sexual misconduct and threatened to expose him if NBC exposed his own dirty secrets.
“Was it to protect someone internally?” Kelly asked. “What Ronan is suggesting is they worked to cover up one sexual predator, Harvey Weinstein, in order to protect another — Matt Lauer.”
