At their battle stations!

Sharon Osbourne and Marie Osmond are battling over the top spot on The Talk, insiders dished exclusively to RadarOnline.com.

Since CBS show creator Sara Gilbert stepped down, the wife of heavy metal wild man Ozzy Osbourne feels she’s the rightful heir to the daytime chatfest’s throne, said a source, who added, “Sharon will NOT put up with Marie trying to hog the spotlight!”

But a second TV insider believes network bigwigs are banking on the culture clash between liberal Osbourne, 66, and Mormon Osmond, 59, in the hopes it will help the broadcast compete with the combative crew of ABC rival The View.

Readers know, Osmond joined the CBS daytime show for its 10th season in September, after Gilbert, 44, quit in order to focus on her family.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported exclusively, Gilbert shocked fans in April by announcing that she was quitting the CBS gig after nine years, and a source revealed the host and longtime wife of Linda Perry was left with no other choice — she either had to walk away from the show, or walk away from her family!
