New Property! Zooey Deschanel Dates Jonathan Scott Amid Her Split From Husband

Zooey Deschanel has moved on romantically with Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott just days after revealing her breakup from producer husband Jacob Pechenik. As Hollywood Life has reported, Zooey, 39, and Jonathan, 41, the twin brother of his HGTV show co-star Drew, showed major PDA on Friday, September 13.

Deschanel wore a pretty dress while holding hands with Scott as they walked together to Little Dom’s restaurant in Silver Lake, California. AHollywood Life source said about their date, “Zooey and Jonathan kept looking at each other and smiling and sat closely, cuddling constantly throughout their meal. They looked very happy and casual. They seemed giddy about one another and held hands as they arrived and whispered to each other often. It was really sweet.”

As RadarOnline.com reported, Zooey and husband Jacob, 47, are splitting up after morethan four years of marriage and two kids. “After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners,” a joint statement from the couple read. “We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time.”

Zooey and Jacob reportedly met on the set of the comedy Rock the Kasbah in 2014. Less than a year later, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together in the summer of 2015. They married that year, around the same time they welcomed daughter Elsie in July. In addition to Elsie, now 4, Zooey and Jacob raise son Charlie, 2.

Zooey was previously married to Ben Gibbard, the lead singer of Death Cab For Cutie, but the two divorced in 2012. Now the New Girl actress has moved on. In early August, Drew's Instagram account actually showed his brother with Zooey. Drew posted a photo showing the actress in a car sitting next to Jonathan when they filmed a "Carpool Karaoke" segment together.

Zooey's Bones star sister Emily was seated behind her--next to Drew in the shot. According to the new website report, Zooey and Jonathan became close during the karaoke shoot. His sibling Drew, 41, married longtime girlfriend Linda Phan in Italy last year.

Jonathan was previously married to Kelsy Ully but they divorced. He split from his last girlfriend, Jacinta Kuznetsov, in 2018. The website insider said that Zooey has "been separated for several months from Jacob. She’s just very private. It’s still very new and she wasn’t really looking to date, but she and Jonathan hit it off unexpectedly."
