Ex ‘American Idol’ Host Brian Dunkleman Lands TV Gig Months After Defending Job As Uber Driver
Months after he was slammed for becoming an Uber driver, former American Idol host Brian Dunkleman announced he has landed a new television gig.
The former TV personality and standup comedian, 47, announced the exciting news on his Facebook account on Monday, September 9.
“I’m joining the Family Feud Live: Celebrity Edition this fall as the announcer, COME ON DOWN! (wrong show)” he captioned a photo. “Hello Salamanca!! Get your tickets at Familyfeudlive.com.”
As RadarOnline.com readers know, the funnyman was criticized in January after reports broke the news that the former comedian was working for Uber as a driver after years of being in the spotlight.
“I chose to stop doing standup comedy and started driving an Uber so I could be there for my son as much as he needed after our life as we knew it was destroyed. Print that,” Dunkleman wrote at the time.
“And I make over a grand on a good week motherf***er. #HumanBarnacles,” he continued.

RadarOnline.com previously learned that Dunkleman was in the midst of a nasty divorce battle with wife Kalea Dunkleman, who he claimed was an abusive alcoholic.
But the former show host has since moved on with girlfriend, Andrea Whitney, who praised him on Monday for landing the new job with heart and kiss emojis in a Facebook comment.
In January, Whitney also had a response to her boyfriend’s haters. She shared a photo of the ex comedian hugging his young son on top of a mountain. “This is why he’s an Uber driver. F**k you,” she captioned a post.
Divorce documents showed that the former actor started driving for Uber in March 2016 and worked for the service about 45 hours a week. Dunkleman made it clear to his fans that he has never been ashamed of his role as a driver.
“It’s comforting to know that I’m at a point in my career when I have absolutely nothing to lose due to an inappropriate tweet #GRATEFUL” he tweeted in May.
