Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have announced the end of their nearly eight-month marriage, and behind the scenes the actor's “heartbroken” over losing his singer wife, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

According to a source, Hemsworth feels blindsided now that Cyrus, 26,  appears to have so quickly moved on with Brody Jenner’s ex-girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter, 30.

Cyrus and Carter were spotted making out and getting cozy poolside at the Il Sereno resort in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday, Aug. 9. The two, who are vacationing together, reportedly didn’t seem to care who saw them — and that apparently includes Cyrus’ jilted ex!

“Liam’s heartbroken, and his family cannot believe she is flaunting this for the world to see,” the source said. “They think she’s a disgrace.”

A rep for Cyrus recently confirmed Cyrus and Hemsworth “have agreed to separate” and end their marriage. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” the rep added.

Carter and Jenner celebrated their Bali destination wedding last June, but they just announced last week that they too have "decided to amicably separate."

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Cyrus “was the one to end it,” a source had noted, explaining the free-spirited singer “said she wanted an open relationship. She wasn’t ready for just one person for forever.”

Meanwhile, the more traditional Hemsworth, 29, wanted kids as soon as possible — but his younger wife was on an entirely different page. The source said: “He wanted babies, and she just didn’t anymore.”
