Brody Jenner Defends Ex Kaitlynn Carter Amid Her Miley Cyrus Hookup

Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter may have ended their relationship, but he still has love and respect for his ex, RadarOnline.com can report.
The reality star broke his silence to address the news of their shocking breakup — and her fling with newly single Miley Cyrus.
“There is far too much negativity being directed at someone who I love and care about very much,” Brody wrote in an Instagram post. “I feel the need to set the story straight.”
He expressed that the two, who’ve been best friends for six years, simply “grew in different directions” within that time.
“We decided the best move for both of us was to keep our love for each other strong but move forward separately with our lives,” he explained.
As readers know, Brody, 35, and Kaitlynn, 30, exchanged vows last summer in Indonesia. RadarOnline.com learned the couple was not “legally married,” but went through with the ceremony to to halt “the constant nagging to get married.”
A year later, the couple shocked the world with their surprising split. Kaitlynn promptly ditched her wedding ring and moved out of their Malibu home.
“Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter have decided to amicably separate,” rep Scott Newman told Us in a statement on Friday, August 2. “They love and respect one another, and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward.”
Brody expressed similar sentiments on Instagram.
According to his post, he will always “respect” and “care deeply” for Kaitlynn, who he described as a “wonderful person,” and a “positive force” in his life.
“She deserves to be able to move forward in her life with respect and happiness,” he concluded.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Kaitlynn has already begun to enjoy her life post breakup. She was spotted kissing Miley as they vacationed together in Italy.
