Queen Latifah Attends Tribeca Film Festival After Party Amid Possible Health Battle

Queen Latifah appeared to be very happy and healthy as she stepped out to attend one of many Tribeca Film Festival festivities, RadarOnline.com can report.
On Friday, April 26, she attended the after party for her program the Queen Collective which was hosted by Proctor & Gamble at Spring Place in New York City.
Late last year, RadarOnline.com exclusively learned the Girls Trip actress, 49, had secretly been visiting a cancer treatment center in Beverly Hills for nearly a year.
“It’s a serious concern,” said an insider. “She goes every couple of weeks and spends two or three hours inside the infusion unit. She’s been going for at least eight months.”
The hip hop star’s health crisis comes after the death of her brother Lance and most notably, the passing of her mother following a decade-long heart condition.
“Rita had chronic heart failure and was on medication. She had a defibrillator implanted in her chest, and Latifah was her constant caregiver to the very end,” a friend shared with RadarOnline.com.

At the time of her death, Latifah told PEOPLE in a statement, “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news my mother, Rita Owens, passed away today,” she said. “Anyone that has ever met her knows what a bright light she was on this earth. She was gentle, but strong, sweet, but sassy, worldly but pragmatic, a woman of great faith and certainly the love of my life.”
Latifah later took to Instagram to share a beautiful photo collage of her mother, captioning the post “143” which means “I love you.”
Fortunately, amid the stirring news is some happy news. The Chicago star is awaiting a wedding to longtime lover and now fiancee’ Eboni Nichols with whom she is expecting!
