Rivera also filed a second motion in court, asking that his confession be thrown out of evidence after claiming that authorities did not read him his Miranda rights. He has a hearing scheduled on June 20 on that matter.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Tibbetts’ disappearance prompted international attention after authorities from both the federal and state level searched for the missing University of Iowa sophomore, who vanished while out for a jog in her secluded hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa on July 18.
Rivera is being held at the Poweshiek County Jail in lieu of $5 million cash bond.
