Former The Amazing Race runner-up Jim Raman has died unexpectedly, and RadarOnline.com has learned cops are looking into it.
Raman, 42, was discovered dead inside his South Carolina home on March 12. According to local sheriff’s officials no one has been arrested or detained in connection to the death at this point, but an official investigation has been launched.
In a statement first obtained by WIS-TV, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said: “Nothing suspicious or criminal is involved with the case you are referencing and out of compassion and respect for family, my office will not comment on it.”
Jim and his wife Misti appeared on the 25th season of The Amazing Race, in 2014. The couple, billed as “Married Dentists,” ended the race in second place. The two were so dominant on the show they finished five of the 12 legs in first place.
After learning of his death, Jim’s dental practice issued a statement to its patients.
“Irmo Smiles has suffered a tragic loss this week,” the statement reads. “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing for Dr. Jim Raman. As our staff and the family prepare for Dr. Raman’s celebration of life, please join us in praying for peace and comfort during this difficult time.”
