Desperate Housewife! Vicki Stages Engagement & Wedding After Nearly Losing ‘RHOC’ Gig

Desperate times call for desperate housewives measures!

After nearly losing her job as a full-time cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Vicki Gunvalson and her boyfriend, Steve Lodge, are “staging an engagement and wedding for the upcoming season,” RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

“She saved herself with the engagement and wedding promise for Season 14,” a production source revealed, adding, “Expect her to really whoop it up like never before!”

After several weeks of negotiations and a looming demotion, on Feb. 17, Vicki, 56, posted a short video on Instagram to let fans know that she had started filming for RHOC next season.

Posing with a bouquet of flowers from Evolution Media, which producers the Housewives franchise, Vicki wrote, “First night of filming for me and Steve Lodge in the books. Season 14! #BRAVO #RHOC.”

But it wasn’t only Vicki that was so desperate to stay on TV — her boyfriend Steve was, too!

“Although Steve says he does not like the spotlight, when he thought that she may not return during negotiations he told her that he will get engaged on-air and allow them to film the wedding for the upcoming season,” the production insider said.

As fans know, Vicki spent the most of last season trying to convince Steve to get hitched to no avail.

“It’s so sad because no one believes that he even really wants to marry her," the source told Radar, noting that if he did, "he would have done it by now."

Prior to dating Steve, Vicki was with Brooks Ayers, who she split with after co-stars accused her of allegedly conspiring with him to fake cancer in order to create a storyline for her.
