Meghan Markle's activist friend is locked up and being brutally tortured in Saudi Arabia for her contentious work.
RadarOnline.com has learned Loujain al-Hathloul was arrested in May 2018 along with seven others who were in the area campaigning for the better treatment of women. She was in the process of setting up a domestic violence shelter called Aminah, which means "safe" in English, when she was taken in. Now, she is being detained in solitary confinement and questioned. She is being tortured with electric shocks, waterboarded and threatened with rape.
According to a CNN article written by her brother, al-Hathloul said the torture sessions have been overseen by Saud al-Qahtani, a former senior aide to Crown Prince Mohammed.
In 2016, Loujain al-Hathloul, 29, attended a One Young World humanitarian summit with Markle, 37, Emma Watson, Cher and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau. In one photo, the former Suits actress is seen posing with al-Hathloul, poet Fatima Bhutto and former president of Ireland Mary Robinson.
