Margot Robbies intense demands on the set of her new flick, Birds of Prey, are causing the big-budget film to spin out of control!

RadarOnline.com has learned that the 28-year-old Aussie actress, who also serves as a producer on the project, wanted the film to be written and directed by women — but insiders say the director she picked, Cathy Yan, lacks the experience to shoot a massive superhero movie.

“Margot hates the way everything looks,” one on-set source told Radar. “She thinks she’s coming across as a clown and way too campy.”

Making matters worse, the movie is already running late and over budget, but Warner Bros. execs are scrambling to make Margot happy.

According to sources, that may include top brass looking for a more experienced director.
