Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has revealed he recently completed a month-long rehab program for depression and alcohol abuse, RadarOnline.com learned.
Jen Harley's troubled ex revealed to Us Weekly in a video interview, shown above, that he decided to get help because he wanted to become a "better person."
"My state of mind when I went in I was very depressed, very angry, resentful to myself about a lot of things I have done over the last year, or even years," he admitted. "I'm not really proud of a lot of stuff."
Ortiz-Magro's stint in rehab comes on the heels of a massive New Year's Eve fight he had with Harley. The reality star claimed Harley threw an ashtray at him, leaving cuts on his face.
Fans speculated Ortiz-Magro was seeking help after he virtually disappeared from social media in the last month.
In the shocking sit-down interview, the troubled reality star confessed that he would turn to alcohol for his depression.
"I was just making the wrong decisions and I was very depressed. When I was depressed, I would turn to drinking," Ortiz-Magro told the outlet. "When I would drink, bad things would just continue to happen because I wasn't reacting the way I should."
He added that he believes alcohol abuse is a "chronic" and progressive" disease.
"I'm still struggling," he added. "I'm going to struggle for the rest of my life."
Ortiz-Magro shares a 10-month-old daughter, Ariana, with Harley. The on-again, off-again couple's explosive fights have played out in the public eye in the last year.
Earlier this month Harley hinted at her baby daddy's rehab stint in a social media rant. She claimed that Ortiz-Magro canceled their Valentine's Day plans to appear on a reality dating show instead.
