Chip Gaines is finally coming clean about the real reason he and wife Joanna ended their hit show Fixer Upper, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
The handyman revealed the former HGTV couple's secret in a new chapter of his memoir, Capital Gaines. It turns out Chip, 44, and Joanna, 40, were literally tired of filming!
In the home remodeler's own words, the parents of five were in need of "some good old-fashioned rest."
Of course, around the same time the couple announced their exit from the show that made them household names, they found out shortly after that they were expecting their fifth child.
"We had no idea what was coming and how exhausted we really were," Chip wrote in the new book.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, the Waco, Texas couple announced in 2017 that season five of Fixer Upper would be their last.
Then the home remodelers welcomed their fifth child, a baby boy named Crew, in June 2018.
Chip reflected that exiting the couple's former show was "truly bittersweet."
But as RadarOnline.com readers know, the couple has a lot on their plate. In addition to their famous Magnolia Silos tourist trap, the two recently opened a restaurant in the heart of the Texas town.
Chip's updated memoir will hit shelves on February 26.
