Champion figure skater John Coughlin's longtime partner is "devastated" by his shocking suicide, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Caydee Denney's mother, Deann, said the tragic death has been "very hard" on the 25-year-old retired athlete.
"We are still all trying to understand it," Deann told RadarOnline.com. "She's not doing very well at the moment."
"We are all just devastated."
Caydee and her family will attend the Kansas City, Missouri funeral on January 29, the grieving parent said.
The pair had worked together professionally for four years until Caydee's 2015 retirement.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, John committed suicide on January 18 in his native Kansas City. He was 33 years old.
"My wonderful, strong, amazingly compassionate brother John Coughlin took his own life earlier today," his sister, Angela Laune, wrote in a Facebook post later that day.
According to USA Today, the pro was facing several accusations of sexual misconduct — including two allegations of inappropriate behavior involving minors.
During the investigation, he was suspended from participating in U.S. Figure Skating or U.S. Olympic Committee competition.
