Kody Brown's Wife Meri Separates From Family Amid Fight Over Business

Meri Brown asked her husband Kody and sister wives Janelle, Christine and Robyn to help pay for the down payment on her bed and breakfast, Lizzie's Heritage Inn. After the family refused to pay for part of the down payment on the Sister Wives premiere, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal Meri is running the business on her own.
In the Business Name Registration exclusively obtained from State of Utah's Department of Commerce, Meri is the only registered agent on the business, which has been active since November 6, 2017.
On the premiere, Meri's business loan for the home, which has been in her family for years, was approved. She was able to save $40,000 through selling clothes, while Kody and the wives agreed to pay the remaining $40,000.
"Because we're going to be investors in that business, we're going to be the board of directors on it and we get to tell you how to run it?" Kody asked, as Meri fired back, "No, not at all."
She said in her confessional, "This is my baby. They don't care about the house or the bed and breakfast business. Once I get this house done, I don't want to have any more business meetings about my house. I want to run my business my way. I don't want to worry about you guys."
Kody then informed Meri that they don't have the money. Although the sister wives offered to help, she told them she would do it on her own.
"You can't control my business and my house," she said.
Lizzie's Heritage Inn only has photos of Meri on the website, not of her family. This is unlike Robyn's business My Sisterwife's Closet, where all of the family members are featured on the website.
But Meri seems to be doing great on her own, as Lizzie's Heritage Inn has been voted Utah's Official Best Country Inn. The bed and breakfast has also received five out of five stars on TripAdvisor and Expedia.
Meri and Kody's relationship has been rocky over the years. As readers know, Kody divorced Meri, who is his first wife, to legally marry younger spouse Robyn in 2014.
Meri later fell victim to a catfish scam. She fell in love with someone on the Internet who she believed was a man. But the person she had a six-month relationship with ended up being a woman.
