‘Sister Wives’ Shocker: Kody Brown & Wife Janelle Are Brother & Sister!

The Sister Wives family tree is more twisted than ever! Kody and Janelle Brown aren’t only husband and wife, but they’re also brother and sister, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Kody’s father William Winn Brown was married to Janelle’s mother Sheryl at the time of his death in August 2013 at age 78.

In his obituary, Sheryl is listed as one of his wives.

Kody’s biological mother, Genielle, and William’s second wife, Bobbi, are also listed. William too practiced polygamy.

The twisted family tree was discussed in a 2013 episode.

“Before Kody and I were really courting, I was actually friends with his family,” Janelle explained. “My mom was worried I was getting sucked into some polygamous cult. But she ended up meeting Kody’s dad and they ended up falling in love and getting married before Kody and I started courting.”

But that isn’t the only relation within the family. RadarOnline.com previously reported Kody and Christine are cousins.

According to Ancestry.com, Kody and Christine share relatives William Moore Allred and Orissa Angela Bates, making them distant cousins.

Kody and Janelle’s daughter Maddie followed in her parents footsteps when it came to marrying a family member!

She tied the knot with her aunt’s brother Caleb Brush. The two welcomed their son in May 2017.

RadarOnline.com also reported Janelle was once married to a man named Adam Clark Barber, who is Meri’s brother. Janelle and Meri were sisters-in-law before they became sister wives!
