Andy Cohen Announces On NYE He's Having a Son Via Surrogate Mom

Party animal Andy Cohen revealed the gender of his surrogate baby on CNN's live New Year's Eve show. As the clock ticked down to midnight on Monday, December 31, Cohen told co-host Anderson Cooper, 51, that he's expecting a baby boy! The news came after RadarOnline.com had exclusively revealed that Cohen has asked Cooper to be the child's godfather.

A source told RadarOnline.com, "Andy knows how much this means to him. The two of them are extremely close." While reflecting on 2018 with the news anchor on CNN, the Watch What Happens Live host, 50, said, "I cannot wait to meet this boy." Cohen added, "When I was growing up, and when we were growing up … I just never thought it would be possible as a gay man to grow up and have a family.

"And here we are in 2018, almost ‘19, and anything’s possible. And I’m so grateful to a wonderful surrogate that I’m working with."

Cohen, who announced he would be becoming a father earlier in December on WWHL, added about his upcoming life-changing event, "By the way, by the time it became possible, I was kind of having too much fun in my life to say, 'I don’t think I can do this right now.' But here I am, I turned 50 this year. It takes some people longer to get to that place. And it took me that time."

The Bravo star who regularly talks to Real Housewives about their own kids, announced earlier on social media, "I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time, I’m going to become a father  thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future."

At that time, he didn't disclose the gender but also wrote, "Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something I’ve wanted in my heart for my entire life and though it has taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet."

Days later, Cohen shared a photo of himself hugging his dog, Wacha, and noted writing that they are "patiently waiting" for the baby’s arrival.

Kathy Griffin slammed former pal Cohen after he replaced her as co-host of CNN's New Year's Eve celebration.

But the popular host shrugged that controversy off and enjoyed sharing his baby gender reveal with fans on Monday night!
