Wicked Tuna star William Joseph Hathaway, otherwise known as Willbilly, has died after a car crash in his native Maryland, RadarOnline.com can confirm.
According to WBOC 16, the 36-year-old called his wife Mary on Saturday, December 15 to say he had swerved into a ditch to avoid a collision, but was doing okay. However, when first responders arrived to the scene, Hathaway was not breathing and passed out in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Now, friends have started a Facebook fundraiser to raise money for the reality star's wife and their newborn daughter, Molly.
"He was an exceptional human being whose passion was the sea. He always brightened the day of anyone he met. His wife and new born baby girl he was most proud of," a spokesperson for the Ocean City Fishing Community wrote on the page. "Due to his untimely death we are asking for donations to help them stay on their feet while trying to survive this tragedy."
