Tragedy struck the Fox 2 Detroit newsroom this Thursday, when one of their young staffers took her own life.
As RadarOnline.com has learned, meteorologist Jessica Starr, 35, committed suicide, leaving behind a husband and two children.
Her distraught co-workers were first to reveal the news.
This Thursday, around 7:00 a.m., morning anchor Amy Andrews shared a photo of her with Starr on Twitter, writing: “Our hearts are broken. Last night we were informed our Jessica Starr took her life. Her Fox 2 family is deep shock and cannot believe such a wonderful, bright and intelligent woman is gone. Keep her family in your prayers in the coming days as we all deal with our grief.”
Another Fox 2 staffer, Roop Raj echoed her sentiment. “I send my deepest sympathies to her family. Our hometown girl will always be remembered fondly,” he tweeted.
As Detroit Free Press reported, Starr — a Michigan native — had been recovering from Lasik surgery since October. Following the procedure, she took to social media to voice her despair over her slow recuperation, saying that she was anxious to return to work.
No further details have been released in regard to Jessica Starr’s shocking suicide.
