'Security-Mad' Simon Cowell Building Another Panic Room — Inside His Office

Simon Cowell is one scared millionaire! As RadarOnline.com has learned, recent tragic events have led the America's Got Talent judge to spend a fortune on yet another panic room — this time at his Sony headquarters in London.

As readers know, Cowell, 59, already has high-tech panic rooms inside his mansions, but this new fortress-style vault is reportedly costing him a whopping $645,000.

Cowell's decision comes after two people were stabbed with a seven-inch kitchen knife during a clash between two canteen chefs at Simon's Sony HQ on Derry Street, west London, on November 2.

A source told RadarOnline.com that "Simon has been security-mad since he was targeted by a burglar in 2015. He has spent fortunes getting panic rooms and high-tech security systems installed at his homes across the world, and after the knife incident he realized he should do the same at his Sony office."

RadarOnline.com readers recall Cowell had bulletproof panic rooms installed in his U.S. and U.K. homes after serial crook Darren February stole almost $1.3million worth of jewelry from his London mansion on December 2015, while he and his family slept. So, of course, the recent stabbings at Sony put him even more on edge.

The insider explained that the X Factor star has already ordered his security team to draw up proposals on how his Sony office should be altered to accommodate the panic room.

"He also wants more CCTV, an escape route, bullet and bomb-proof materials and a direct line to police included," said the source, adding that Cowell already had his own sauna installed inside the office, so he has "no problem ordering huge renovations to satisfy his every wish."
