The peaches are back, with drama, tears and love.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta returned this Sunday with the heartbreaking news that NeNe Leakes' husband Gregg was fighting Stage 3 colon cancer.

"Gregg's health these last couple of years has been a lot. Last year Gregg had this issue with his heart," NeNe, 50, explained.

"It was Cinco de Mayo. Gregg was in excruciating pain. Like, I've never seen him say, 'I'm hurting so bad, the pain is so bad in my stomach.' And finally, he said to me, 'Take me to the hospital.'"

NeNe revealed: "He was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. We just weren't prepared to hear that."

Despite his health crisis, Gregg Leakes tried to cheer his wife up, telling her: "When they took my colon out my heart got bigger," but it was still a struggle for NeNe.

"It's a very hard role to take care of someone. I feel like if I crumble then Gregg and Brantt is over. I put on a brave face, but I have my moments in my bedroom. Alone. I've had many moments in my car. If my car could talk my car would be like 'This b*tch cries too much.'"

NeNe said she called upon her faith to get them through Gregg's illness and had a prayer circle at their home. "The scariest part through all of this was when I got to the hospital and the doctors saying we need to do surgery on you tonight or you aint' gonna make it," Gregg recalled.

"So, I went over and I prayed to God and I told him if it is time let's go. I don't fear death. I don't want to go. But if my work is done here, let's go."

Gregg told his son that he wrote a note and gave it to the doctor in case he didn't make it out of surgery.

"You never know what's in you until you at that door," Gregg admitted. "I never thought I had it in me to fight cancer. Now, I want to beat cancer's a**."

He told NeNe that she was a rock. "You have been my light. I couldn't do this without you. I couldn't. I wouldn't even try. So I want to thank you, baby."

NeNe was realistic about his diagnosis. "There's a chance the cancer could come back but thank God that he caught it when he did catch it. He could not be here."

The show then took a much happier turn, when Porsha Williams' new romance with her boyfriend was introduced, and the couple even went ring shopping together!

"Here I am completely in love," Williams (who is now engaged and pregnant ) said about Dennis McKinley. "I've never had this type of connection on this level. He told me he loved me on the first day we met," she said.

Kandi Burruss was struggling with balance work and her children, and her daughter Riley told her: "The money doesn't matter if you're not around. Riley. I get sad when you come back for a day or two and then you leave."

Cynthia Bailey was crushing on her new man, Mike Hill. "Mike makes me happy," she gushed. And unlike her last boyfriend, Hill was a little more intimate. "What makes Mike different is he has definitely swam in the cool waters of Lake Bailey. Several times," she said.
