Bethenny Frankel is helping victims of the California wildfires through her BStrong Foundation, has learned.

The fires hit such cities as Paradise and Malibu extremely hard, and Frankel, 48, is happy to lend a hand.

"She has done an amazing job, going above and beyond to help people," a pal told

It's not the first time, as BStrong has stepped up for other disasters, including the Texas, Florida, and St. Thomas hurricanes, the Mexico earthquake and Guatemala volcanic eruptions.

The Real Housewives of New York star continues to press on with her charity work despite the tragedy of her former boyfriend Dennis Shields' death.

Frankel has said about her foundation changed and grew to various causes, "I was watching the news during the Texas hurricanes. I had labeled the goal for BStrong 'to help women in crisis.' The initial initiative was to year-round help women in need of emotional, financial and legal assistance and life coaching.

"But when I saw the footage, I said to myself, 'this is a crisis' and where I need to focus my attention and money at that particular moment. I had no idea it would snowball into my visiting multiple countries and territories and being on the ground first before the government. It was like a pop-up startup that I had to plan and execute differently for each disaster."

According to Frankel, the fires that caused stars such as Robin Thicke and numerous regular folks to lose their homes made her swing into action again.

"We have raised money to distribute cash cards to the victims of the horrifying fires who have lost everything. They include firemen who are working tirelessly and have lost their homes as well. We have amassed major donations of items like blankets, tents and sustenance as well to donate to the victims literally living in parking lots who have lost everything," she said.

Frankel has stressed that all relief items are donated to BStrong, then given to victims.

Major brands and public companies like and jackslinkjerky have donated relief items.
