Alaskan Bush People star Ami Brown’s mother passed away and RadarOnline.com exclusively learned that the pair were still estranged when she died.

“Ami’s mother has died,” a source confirmed to RadarOnline.com about Earlene Branson, who passed away in Texas on November 9, 2018 at the age of 85.

The death has devastated the reality star.

“Ami is rather upset about this because she never got the opportunity to reconcile with her mom, who tried for years and years to see her daughter,” the insider dished.

While Brown’s own struggle with cancer was detailed on their Discovery Channel show, her mother’s death has hit her hard.

“There is nothing that she can do. It’s too late. She’s gone,” the close family source told RadarOnline.com.

Earlene and Les Branson, Brown’s brother, tried to visit her in Alaska, but she was out of state at the time.

Her obituary mentioned her estranged daughter, stating: “Her daughter Ami Brown is a star of the hit television show Alaskan Bush People, which airs on the Discovery Channel.”

In 2017 Earlene and Les told RadarOnline.com that they had not heard from Brown in ten years. She sent her mother a birthday card in 2007 and made a shocking promise. “She said, ‘We’re going to come see you on Billy’s book signing tour, we’ll come down and see you,’” Les told RadarOnline.com.

“We were very excited, thinking we were going to get to see her.”

But they believe the controlling patriarch shut down the highly-anticipated reunion.

“I found out later that they drove right by, and Billy wouldn’t let her stop and see any of us,” Les fumed about his sister’s husband, who she ran away with when she was just 15. “We were absolutely heartbroken. We’re still waiting to see Ami. And we know it’s all because of Billy!”
