90 Day Fiancé star Ashley Martson shocked friends and fans when she revealed a scary time in her past.

The reality star says she felt forced to come forward and share her story after an old friend prepared to out her. has learned 39-year-old Sean Patrick Gallagher was convicted in October of kidnapping and raping Martson in York City in 2005, after a conclusive DNA match was made between Gallagher and semen left in Martson’s car.

According to York City Police, Gallagher followed Martson as she walked to her job. He put the blade of a box cutter to her throat and tried to rob her, but when she said she had no money he forced her into the passenger seat of her own car, where he bound her hands with plastic zip ties.

Gallagher drove to a Small Athletic Field, where he raped and terrorized the woman.

"He bound her hand with zip ties so tight, her hands turned blue," senior deputy prosecutor Jennifer Russell told jurors during the trial. "She was terrified he was going to kill her."

The woman escaped after hitting Gallagher with her bag, knocking him off balance. She then had to chew through the plastic ties to free her hands and run to safety.

Gallagher is currently serving an eight- to 20-year state prison sentence after pleading guilty in a 2007 robbery case in Philadelphia, according to court records.
