A college football player is behind bars after allegedly plotting to murder the family members of an acquaintance, police tell RadarOnline.com.

Izaia Bullock, 22, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder in the first degree and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree.

Bullock, who played as a junior linebacker for Rutgers University allegedly plotted to kill two people over the weekend but police say that “the intended victims are not affiliated with Rutgers University.”

Rutgers dismissed Bullock from the football program Tuesday after police arrested him on the attempted murder and conspiracy charges, the university tells RadarOnline.com.

“Izaia Bullock has been dismissed from the team.” Rutgers University said in a statement. “The university is initiating disciplinary proceedings.”

The football team was under recent scrutiny after one-dozen players were charged with various crimes including credit card fraud, sexual assault, and a highly publicized fight in a parking lot.

Bullock is remanded at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending an initial court appearance.
