A witness plans to testify that Robert Durst's late wife described the accused killer as "violent" weeks before she mysteriously went missing, RadarOnline.com can report.
Shocking new court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com claimed that Kathie Durst told a friend, Dr. Peter Halperin, how terrified she was of the accused murderer in a disturbing phone call.
"During the call, Kathie was extremely frightened and told Dr. Halperin of Defendant's erratic and violent behavior," the documents stated.
The explosive court documents also claimed Halperin remembers "Kathie's voice shaking" as she spoke with "kind of pressured speech."
During the shocking telephone call, Halperin told Kathie should get away from her allegedly dangerous husband, but the terrified wife claimed it would "interfere with her ability to get a divorce settlement."
Also in the documents, another friend, Janet Finke-Shaw, claimed Kathie was once unsuccessful in trying to escape from Robert. The papers state Kathie tried leaving through a window but Robert "pulled her back in," leaving her with "totally scraped" legs.
A preliminary hearing in Robert's murder trial of his friend, Susan Berman, begins in Los Angeles on Monday.
Durst, 75, was arrested on March 14, 2015 in connection with the slaying of his friend.
Other testimonies are expected to come from various police detectives and other law enforcement officials who worked on the case over the years.
Kathleen Durst went missing in 1982 and her body was never found. She was officially declared dead in 2017.
