Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Private Party Jet Is Hit By Lightning

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's private party jet was hit by lightning in a huge scare for the British royal family, The Mail on Sunday has reported.

The newlywed couple was being flown from London Oxford Airport to Amsterdam.

The luxury plane, which is worth about $52 million in U.S. dollars, was struck by lightning as it flew the couple to Amsterdam last month for a star-studded party at Soho House.

At least 30 million volts surged through the fuselage of the Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft after the thunder bolt hit the nose cone.

It nearly struck the jet's RadarOnline.com navigation equipment, according to the British publication.

The September 21 incident was over, however, when the plane landed safely at Amsterdam's city’s Schiphol airport.

Harry and Markle, who wed in May, then proceeded to the party, mingling with stars Eddie Redmayne, Nick Grimshaw and Jenna Coleman at the exclusive Soho House club in the city.

But sources told The Mail that the jet was grounded for nine days as it was replaced by a new white nose cone. It underwent repairs and safety checks.

Swedish corporate-jet operators Industriflyg had to fly out a replacement plane from Stockholm.

As RadarOnline.com recently reported, pregnancy rumors are flying over Markle's loose outfit at Princess Eugenie's wedding.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the airplane incident.
