Nicole Kidman may be getting ready to show fans her most intense film ever. In the new Destroyer trailer, the Hollywood beauty plays a troubled LAPD detective, Erin Bell, who is crushed and worn out by the complexities of her job.

Bell, who starts off as a brave, honest fighter, ends up torn to shreds, regretting her decisions, and hoping to push her daughter towards a better life.

"I've spent my whole life scrambling, jealous, hungry, scared. I wanna find something decent, something good," she tells her in the clip. "You can be better than me."

The trailer shows dark scenes of Bell's hard life as an undercover gang detective, at one point suggesting that the power of the underworld turned appealing to her, and made her question both her job and her values.

"I just wanted one good thing," she says in the end as she tried hard to find the life she left behind.

The Karyn Kusama thriller premiere on December 25, 2018, and has already garnered Nicole Kidman, 51, much critical acclaim, with various critics calling it her best performance ever.
