Almost Over! Jennifer Garner Requests To Finalize Divorce From Ben Affleck

Jennifer Garner is one step closer to ending her marriage to Ben Affleck. Court papers obtained from Superior Court of California reveal exclusive details on the actress’ request to have her divorce from Affleck finalized.
In the court papers filed on Monday, October 1, Garner, 46, is requesting a temporary judge review her court case to speed up the finalization process. The judge would discuss final divorce details between Garner and Affleck, 46.
“The court has received a valid stipulation of all parties for the assignment of a temporary judge to hear this case,” the court papers read. “The stipulation, approved by the court and filed on October 1, 2018, contains the required oath certifying that the temporary judge is aware of and will comply with the applicable California Rules of Court.”
All proceedings from the temporary judge will be “open to the public” with no restriction on attendance if the proceedings are held in a courthouse. Court files will also be available for public inspection.
The couple would have to file motions to seal orders or approval of confidentiality agreements to the supervising judge, not temporary judge.
The actors announced their separation in June 2015, one day after their 10th wedding anniversary.
The couple filed for divorce in April 2017, requesting joint legal and physical custody of their three children.
Garner and Affleck remained civil after their split, often photographed on family outings.
Garner even held an intervention for Affleck to enter treatment on August 22 for alcohol issues.
Affleck dated girlfriend Lindsay Shookus for over a year and is currently dating model Shauna Sexton.
