A former football star and temporary NFL player has just been accused of child sexual assault – but he claims the intercourse was the young girl's idea.

As RadarOnline.com has learned, Justin Crawford, 23, was charged with sodomy, aggravated child molestation, incest and enticing a child for indecent purposes after he confessed to his crime. He is currently being held without bond at the Muscogee County Jai but has not entered a plea.

According to PEOPLE, the athlete — who was kicked of the Atlanta Falcons this September — Crawford was involved in oral sex and sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl that was staying at his house.

Columbus police detective Mark Scruggs testified that Crawford's wife got out of bed around 4 a.m. this past Saturday and discovered her husband with an erect penis standing over the underage girl in their living room. Feeling uneasy, she then went back to bed.

The athlete's wife, however, told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer that she saw her husband expose his penis near the child and then run into the kitchen.

"I did not see anyone having sex, or I would have called police right away," she said, adding that he denied having intercourse with the girl.

The child, however, had a different story. That same Saturday, the pre-teen told her mother that Crawford came into the living room while she was sleeping and forced her to perform oral sex. She also said that they had intercourse, according to the newspaper.

While Crawford first denied the girl's claims, he eventually admitted the two did have sex, but it was her idea, according to police.

Justin Crawford could face prison time if convicted.
