Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown entered rehab last week after suffering a recent relapse on alcohol that started during his mother Ami's near-fatal cancer crisis, as RadarOnline.com exclusively learned.
Now, less than one week after the 36-year-old entered an in-patient facility to save himself from an admitted "downward spiral," Matt's sister Rain, 15, and brother Joshua Bam Bam Brown, 34, reveal Matt is "getting the help he needs" in an emotional on-camera PSA.
"We'd really like to thank everybody that has sent in well-wishes and prayers for Matt. We are all rooting for him and he is currently getting the help that he needs," Joshua said in the video obtained by Radar.
"And if you or someone you know is struggling with mental health or substance abuse, please call 1 (800) 662-HELP to speak with someone confidentially. Love you and God Bless," added Rain, who has been extremely outspoken about her own mental health struggles.
People Magazine revealed Matt's latest setback, and in the most recent issue, mom Ami, 54 — who has miraculously overcome her battle with cancer, but still must undergo tests every three months — said, "It's hard not having one of my babies here with us. He was so strong for me, and I want to be strong for him."
Father Billy Brown, 65, shared his wife's sentiments, telling the outlet, "We miss him terribly, but we'd rather lose him from home for a little while than lose him forever. We just want him to do what he needs to do to get better."
If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health or substance abuse, please call 1 (800) 662-HELP to speak with someone confidentially, 24/7.
