Notorious convicted murdered Arnold Nash is on the run after escaping from a prison in Maine for the third time.
The 65-year-old is serving 45-years at Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston for the 1991 beating death of 58-year-old Wilfred Gibeault.
Nash escaped on Thursday night and local police are scouring the area for any sign of him.
Nash is 5-feet-six inches tall, weighs approximately 160 pounds and has a fish tattoo on his right arm and the word 'Mom' on his left arm.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland warned people that Nash is dangerous.
He said: "He's a career criminal and residents in the Greater Charleston area need to be aware, be vigilant and take extra precautions."
There were no details on how Nash escaped or why he was being housed at the minimum security prison.
Before his escape he was scheduled to be released in December –18 years before the end of his original sentence.
