Wedding Wars! Bridezilla Princess Eugenie Desperate To Outdo Meghan's Royal Nuptials

Pampered Princess Eugenie is splashing a fortune on her two-day wedding in a pointless bid to get one up on Meghan Markle, RadarOnline.com can reveal exclusively!

The ninth in line to the throne is planning a lavish celebration to mark her marriage to posh wine merchant Jack Brooksbank.

Sources say her extravaganza is part of her “bridezilla battle” to try and upstage Meghan – even though the ex-Suits actress “couldn’t care less” about the details of the ceremony.

A palace insider added: “Eugenie is renowned as a classic privileged princess, and always wants her parties to be put on without cost being considered.

Her wedding is no different. She’s fully aware senior royals will look down on her wedding as second best when it’s compared to Meghan and Harry’s big day.

“So she’s decided to go all out and has become a fully-fledged ‘bridezilla’ – hiring the most expensive planners and caterers she can find.

“Eugenie also wants an A-list guest list, just like Meghan.”

But the source added Eugenie’s extravaganza was totally “pointless” and has already enraged politicians and taxpayers.

“The only thing is, all the effort is pointless. Meghan knows Eugenie’s big day will never get the kind of global attention her wedding did, and she has bigger concerns on her mind, like the trouble being caused by her family constantly slamming the royal family in public.

“Eugenie would have been better simply holding an understated wedding and making some kind of donation to charity instead of spending millions on security and expensive champagne.”

Eugenie, 28, will tie the knot with 32-year-old Jack on Friday October 12 at St George’s Chapel – the same church where Harry and Meghan said “I do” – before a black tie evening reception at Royal Lodge in Windsor, where Eugenie’s privileged parents Andrew and Fergie still share a home despite divorcing in 1996.

While Harry and Meghan invited only 600 guests to their wedding chapel ceremony, Eugenie is packing 850 people into the small church at Windsor Castle – despite capacity being 800.

The source added: “Extra seating is going to have to be provided, and Eugenie doesn’t care if the crowd creates what is technically an over-capacity safety hazard.”

Hamish Shephard, founder of a wedding planning app, has estimated security alone for the royal wedding could cost around $2.6million – with taxpayers expected to foot the bill.

Flowers are also expected to cost $131,000, and entertainment around $200,000 – as Eugenie is said to be gagging to rope in a performer such as Ed Sheeran.

Among the staff organizing Eugenie’s wedding bash is Peregrine Armstrong-Jones, the party planner behind David and Victoria Beckham’s 1999 wedding reception at Luttrellstown Castle near Dublin.

And among guests invited to Eugenie’s wedding are thought to include: George and Amal Clooney, the Beckhams, Robbie and Ayda Williams, model Cara Delevingne and artist Tracey Emin.

The party following the weekend-long wedding will include a funfair-themed area and tequila stand – as Jack has interests in the spirits business.

Eugenie also wants to ride in an open-carriage procession around Windsor, just like Meghan.
