Following in the footsteps of notorious New York gay penguin couple Roy and Silo, another adorable set of love birds has come into the spotlight.
As RadarOnline.com has learned, a male penguin twosome from Denmark’s Odense zoo has gained notoriety after it “kidnapped” a baby chick from a neglectful straight couple!
As the chick’s mother went for a swim, and the inattentive father scattered, the gay couple intervened and took the lonely chick away!
Zookeeper Sandie Hedgegård Munck told Denmark broadcaster DR that the gay couple instantly began caring for the young penguin after its mother left to take a bath.
Munck said that while the mom is “very caring for the kid,” the father is not as gentle, which is why the gay couple thought it fair to take the baby for themselves.
The crime, however, was quickly resolved.
One day after the kidnapping, the chick’s biological parents confronted the gay couple and began a physical fight! It was then that zookeepers intervened and returned their baby.
However, seeing that the gay penguins were still longing to start their own family, the zoo provided them with an unhatched egg from a female penguin that was unable to take care of her child.
They will now live happily ever after.
RadarOnline.com readers know the touching story comes after the New York Times’ account of Roy and Silo, the gay penguin couple from Manhattan who put a rock in their nest and pretended it was an egg. They too were given a child to raise, though they eventually broke up.
